Feeling like your cheeks are not the same as they used to be? You’re not alone. The high cheekbone look is a sign of classic beauty. Facial volume loss over time detracts from this youthful look. Today’s techniques for cheek restoration available at our Westchester aesthetic center are revolutionizing the aesthetic world.

Baby Face

What doctors and patients alike have found is that merely treating wrinkles is only half the story.
Known as the “triangle of youth”, a youthful face is characterized by a rounded shape. Full, “chiseled” cheeks or rounded, prominent cheeks with the widest point at the cheek, narrowing at the chin gives a youthful appearance. As people age, they typically lose this look, sometimes resulting in a deflated, gaunt, tired and unfortunately, older appearance. In addition, facial skin begins to sag, causing the jawline and jowls to become more prominent, resulting in a reverse triangle, one of the hallmarks of an aging face.

Advanced Options for Cheek Enhancement

A new generation of non-surgical cheek restoration techniques offered at our Westchester facility is aimed at restoring volume and lift in the midface area. For example, Voluma is the most recently introduced injectable HA filler that restores lost volume in the cheeks. Giving a “lift” to the cheek by adding volume to it diminishes nasolabial folds (smile lines), the downturn of the mouth (marionette lines) and pronounced jowls. Known as the “liquid facelift”, this option can effectively address multiple cosmetic issues at once and rejuvenate the appearance with smooth, natural-looking results.

Fillers and volumizers such as Voluma, Radiesse and Scupltra are FDA- approved and actually stimulate the body’s own collagen production, emphasizing the cheekbones while improving definition and youthful facial contours. These products can last anywhere from six months to several years, usually with no or only minor and temporary side effects like swelling and bruising in the injection area. Though there has been a 21% increase in cheek restoration surgery since 2000, according to the most recent report from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, most people want cosmetic interventions that are subtle, natural-looking and don’t require going under the knife.

The Bottom Line

Wrinkles are only part of the look of an aging face. Contours that change with time and gravity can literally turn that youthful facial triangle upside down. There are more safe and effective options at our Westchester aesthetic center than ever for those who wish to turn back the hands of time and restore a youthful look… almost instantly!
