We’re thrilled to announce the addition of Dr. Andrew Kornstein to our Westchester cosmetic surgery team. He is a plastic surgeon who is uniquely qualified with an extensive background of research and practice with some of today’s most cutting edge aesthetic treatments.
Education and Experience
Dr. Kornstein graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Pennsylvania, and received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College, where he completed The National Institute of Health Fellowship in Nuclear Medicine and Clinical Cardiology. Dr. Kornstein was selected to join the elite Residency programs at Columbia University/St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, both in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery, where he continued his Fellowship training in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and refined his aesthetic techniques. Today, he serves as attending physician at Columbia University/St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Kornstein is Board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is an active member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and The Rhinoplasty Society.
Leading the Way Forward
Dr. Kornstein is renowned as a “super specialist” in breast reconstruction, with particular expertise in fat grafting. He has pioneered techniques for using fat transfer on the body and face.
His extensive research includes a special concentration on focused energy treatments. Focused energy treatments are non-invasive, safe ways to address beauty concerns without surgery. His work on Ultherapy to promote post-procedure healing has had positive life-changing results for rhinoplasty patients. Dr. Kornstein also played an integral role in the design of the CoolSculpting system, one of today’s most exciting options for body contouring and the reduction of persistent fatty deposits or such as love handles and lower belly fat. He is among the most expert providers of CoolSculpting treatment in the nation.
Throughout his career, Dr. Kornstein has been actively involved in researching safe, effective treatment options for people’s aesthetic concerns. In addition to the groundbreaking work he’s done on breast reconstruction and reduction procedures, Dr. Kornstein played a pivotal role in developing the protocols that determine how Botox, Juvederm, and Restylane are used today. He’s one of a very small number of plastic surgeons selected to test Voluma, a new Westchester filler . SkinCenter is one of the first in Westchester to offer this exciting new option to revitalize a youthful complexion.
