Say So Long to Wrinkles, Sun Damage & Acne Scars with Microneedling with DermaL Pen
Three of the most common complexion concerns we hear about at SkinCenter are fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, and acne scars. Laser skin resurfacing addresses all of these concerns, but it’s not everyone’s treatment of choice. Microneedling with DermaL Pen is proven, safe, cost-effective alternatives.
How Microneedling with DermaL Pen Works
Microneedling is performed with a device that has multiple extremely fine needles. These needles are used to create tiny perforations in the top layers of the skin. This stimulates the body’s natural collagen producing mechanisms to get to work. The collagen they produce smooths the skin from beneath, ‘filling in’ fine lines and wrinkles. Sun damage and acne scars become much less noticeable: in some cases, practically invisible.
Does Microneedling Hurt?
The word “needle” sometimes frightens people. However, most of our clients report that with the use of a topical numbing agent makes the process very comfortable. Some tenderness in the treatment area is common, but for most people, passes within one to two days.
Where Can Microneedling Be Used
Microneedling can be used on the face and body. In addition to facial areas, our clientele chooses microneedling most often to address stretch marks on the stomach, thighs, and breasts. Extremely minor skin damage can be addressed with a single treatment session, but for most clients, 3-6 treatment sessions are needed to provide truly satisfying results.
How Long Do the Results of Microneedling Last?
Here’s the part of the story you’re going to really be excited about. Microneedling requires a little patience up front, but the results can last for years. First results from microneedling treatment begin to appear within a week, with the full impact visible after 8weeks. The collagen that has been produced as part of the treatment remains in place, which means your skin will remain smooth and soft, with fewer wrinkles for a long time. When time does begin to break the collagen down again, you can repeat the microneedling and get the same satisfying results.
